What’s your Vision for 2020?
Here’s what you can do in the next 90 days to make 2020 your best year yet
I reckon the minute the Melbourne Cup is run and won, most of Australia starts thinking about putting the cue in the rack for the year.
The weather is good and talk soon turns to what are you doing for Chrissie, are you going away in January, and basically 2020 still seems a long way off.
Here are some actions you can take now to make 2020 your best year yet.
1. Develop a Strategic Plan
Many organisations just put one foot in front of the other and while they might be busy, if they are heading in the wrong direction at some stage they are going to find themselves somewhere other than where they want to be.
The strategic planning process can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. We have a proven methodology that keeps it simple. It’s based on answering three questions
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to be?
- How are we going to get there?
We handle everything from the pre-work, to the venue, the facilitation of the workshop, the summary of the key points into a Plan on a Page and guidance in the implementation phase.
2. Get a Mentor
We tend to get advice from a range of sources – our employees, our friends, our partners etc. The difference between what they tell you and what an Expert Mentor will tell you is they might tell you what you want to hear, but a mentor will tell you what you need to hear.
The world’s best performers – in sport, business, entertainment etc have entire support teams around them. Who is in your corner?
Jim Rohn once said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. Making sure one of those people is an expert in leadership, team engagement and organisation success means that you are setting yourself up for success.
Our Mentor Program is both structured and flexible. We help you develop self awareness and emotional intelligence. We look at your strengths and weaknesses. We keep you on track and accountable.
3. Engage your senior team
The success of an organisation depends on how many shoulders are sharing the responsibility. Too often, too much responsibility is on too few shoulders.
Our Becoming Better Leaders one day workshop engages your Senior Team members and helps them understand their roles and responsibilities.
The workshop is based on a world class leadership development model and we customise the content to best suit your organisation’s needs.
We conduct the workshop offsite to ensure that your team members’ heads are in the game.
We cover
- The importance of leadership
- The difference between managing and leading
- Managing time and priorities more effectively
- Increasing trust and reliability
- Having difficult conversations
- Having courage and facing up to the tough stuff
- Effective delegation.
